Management Team

Our management team are highly skilled and qualified professionals in the fields of youth work, education & psychology.  They each have over twenty years of working practise in affecting positive change in attitude & behaviour; working with children, young people and their families. Through a careful balance of fun and boundaried exploration, children are given a safe place to learn & express themselves and to reach the high expectations that are set.

Kevin Brown 
Kevin has worked with children and young people for the past twenty years and came to Nottingham to study Community Performance Arts and Youth and Community Studies.

After graduating, Kevin worked with a number of theatre and education companies as a community performer in schools across the Midlands.

Kevin has managerial experience across a number of services which include Alternative Education Provisions and Nurture programmes for organisations including The Zone Youth Project, BUILD Nottingham Mentor and Blend Youth Project.

Through appropriate challenge and with emphasis on building respectful relationships, Kevin is able to quickly reach and teach disaffected learners.

Kevin’s previous roles also include Service Manager for Nottingham City Youth Service and  Team Manager for Nottingham City Family Community Teams.

Anika Vassell
Anika has over twenty years of experience working with children and young people from a variety of socio-economic & cultural backgrounds.

Her experience spans from working as an ‘outstanding’ specialist teacher of PSHE & Psychology at the top performing secondary school in Nottinghamshire; to working with young offenders within a secure unit after studying for a Masters degree in Forensic (Criminal) Psychology.

Anika’s working history also includes managing a residential home where six children who had a range of social, emotional, behavioural & special educational needs lived with her at a residential school in the beautiful countryside of East Sussex.

As a specialist in adolescent and pre-adolescent behaviour, Anika runs her own business facilitating ‘Working With Teen Psychology’ CPD training programmes. Her private consultancy service also offers training and support for parents who struggle to manage behaviour presented in the home.
